The Blue Growth pilot project executed by PLOCAN within the framework of the RIS3_Net project was presented in Praia, Cape Verde, during the training workshops on Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3). The workshops took place on 20-21 March in the facilities of the Núcleo Operacional da Sociedade de Informação (NOSi), which participates in the project as a third country partner. Cape Verdean institutions related to the management of R&D&I policies and representatives of the project partners participated in these training workshops.
PLOCAN participated with the presentation “Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands: Design, construction, equipment and operation” in the II Civil Engineering and Geomatics Workshop organised by the School of Civil and Industrial Engineering of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Technical staff from PLOCAN, within the framework of the ECOMARPORT project, executed technical tasks of maintenance and installation of new devices for autonomous monitoring of oceanographic parameters included in the Macaronesian Marine and Maritime Observation Network (R3M), specifically in the station 706 located in the facilities of the Funchal Sports Port and in the station 1017 located in the commercial port of Porto Santo Island.
The Oceanic Platform of the Canay Islands organised an Underwater Robotics Workshop at CIVITAS Association, which was founded in March 1969, thanks to the initiative of a group of parents with children with intellectual disabilities, who tried to respond to the special educational and occupational needs of their children. Nowadays, the Association includes a Special Education Centre, an Occupational Centre and a Third-Party Support Centre, which offer their services to 250 members.
