PLOCAN participated as conference Event Supporter and was part of a stand organized by the ICEX (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) at ICOE (International Conference on Ocean Energy). ICOE is the main international event on ocean energies, it has just been held in Edinburgh from 23 to 25 February 2016, with the participation of over 700 representatives of the sector worldwide.
PLOCAN was also involved in the organization of an information and brokerage event to present the first joint call results and the details of the second call of the project OCEANERA-NET. Finally, PLOCAN contributed with two communications: “A singular facility at the PLOCAN test site” and “Environmental monitoring at the PLOCAN marine test site”, regarding its marine testbed and the oceanic platform, which is at the moment under construction.
The Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) held, from 17th to 19th February, the second plenary meeting of the consortium that forms the SWARMs Project. SWARMs (Smart and Networking UnderWAter Robots in Cooperation Meshes) is a technological project which main objective is to enlarge the ROV/AUV technologies and improve the design, planning and execution of the maritime off-shore operations.
SWARMs is coordinated by UPM, corresponds to the call H2020-2014-1-ECSEL, and counts on a multidisciplinary consortium formed by 30 partners. One of these partners is PLOCAN, but other big institutions and companies directly connected to the technological development and innovation on the marine and maritime fields are also present in this project.
