Marina Läroverket

Students from the Swedish maritime school Marina Läroverket visited the facilities of the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN). This visit of a new delegation of students is part of their training course on board of the ship school Älva in Canarian waters. The students, accompanied by their teacher, were informed in detail about the facilities of PLOCAN: the Multi-purpose Offshore Platform, the Test Site and the Observatory. Furthermore, they were able to discover the specific characteristics and the operating modes of the gliders.

OECD Lisboa

The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), located in Alges (Lisbon), hosted the sessions “Innovation for Sustainable Ocean: Observatories and Knowledge Networks”, organised by the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) in collaboration with the Directorate-General for the sea policy (DGPM) and the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) of the Government of Portugal.

Future Lab

A delegation of technology companies linked to the field of innovation in vertical mobility in air and sea, which participate in the "Canary Islands Future Lab" initiative, visited the land facilities of the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands in order to learn about the capabilities and the lines of action in marine robotics and autonomous platforms of the Consortium.

Visita Poyecto FORDARD

Partners of the FORWARD Project, “Fostering research excellence in EU Outermost Regions”, visited the facilities of the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands during the KickOff Meeting of the project, which was held at the Elder Museum in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
