Robótica Submarina

PLOCAN has launched the 2018/2019 edition of the Underwater Robotics (Face-to-face) Workshop, developed within the program of the ROVSTEAM project: STEAM Competencies Development through Low Cost Educative Marine Robotics, which is part of its initiative of Educative Underwater Robotics EDUROVs, with the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, “La Caixa” Foundation and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria.

The ROVSTEAM project proposes the construction of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) at an educational level in different fields of action, from low cost tools with free hardware and software. The proposal is the continuation and expansion of the FECYT 2017 project “ROVINO – Low Cost Educative Robotics with Arduino Technology”, making the experience grow in every way.

Since the beginning of this year’s edition, eight educational centers have participated in the Underwater Robotics (Face-to-face) Workshop. The activities will continue until May 2019 with 55 visits that have been planned for Primary, Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary Education from 31 educational centers of Gran Canaria.
