The SmartBlue Project consortium held its first meeting in the PLOCAN offices in Taliarte. This project seeks to foster the competitiveness of marine maritime companies in Macaronesia with a network of clusters to promote processes of innovation and international expansion by jointly leveraging synergies, capabilities and resources, and co-ordinating the Canary Island Maritime Cluster (CMC, as it is known in Spanish) as the main beneficiary.

The responsible of the PLOCAN Innovation Unit, Ayoze Castro Alonso, participated at the European Geosciences Union General Assembly (EGU) 2017 presenting three posters. The first poster was related to an integral programme management methodology for R&D projects in Marine Sciences certified in PLOCAN. The other two posters were presented in the scope of the European projects FP7 NeXOS and H2020 SWARMs.

The poster about NeXOS, a project which has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement nº 614102, described the management tools of this project co-ordinated by PLOCAN. The poster about SWARMs, a project which has received funding from the European Commission programme ECSEL-2014-1: Key Applications and Essential Technologies under Grant Agreement nº 662107, presented the management of the Early Trials conducted at the PLOCAN land base in the scope of this project in which PLOCAN acts as a partner.
