From 23th to 25th May it will be open the exposure “The Ocean and the quemistry of the life” in El Hierro island, in the exposure room of Valverde town.

From its opening it has been visited by several groups of students and general public, showing a special interest by chemistry processes that happening in the oceans, especially those related with volcanic phenomena like it happened in October 2011 at the south of this island.

Submarine volcanoes as the one of El Hierro provide to the ocean a great amount of substances and minerals that let, once the eruptive phenomenon is extinguished and the conditions of the ocean recover their normal conditions, a bloom and growing up of
organisms, both new species and species typical of the region before the eruption.
