26-10-2010. Spanish research group in applied submarine robotics.

On 26 October 2010 members of the PLOCAN technical team held a meeting with representatives from the Computerised Viewing and Submarine Robotics (VICOROB) group. As part of the University of Girona (UdG) Institute of Information Technology and Applications, the group carries out research into real-time viewing and image processing systems, as well as image recognition and mobile object tracking, all within the context of submarine robotics, including the development of its own AUV- and ROV-type vehicles.

At the meeting, the two groups gave presentations in order to demonstrate their mutual capabilities and interests, enabling them to identify areas of cooperation focussing on the development and application of submarine vehicle technology, a strategic area of activity for PLOCAN.
