The Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) and Casco Antiguo Pro company organized from 4th to 6th October a Technical Workshop on Underwater Robotics where cutting-edge marine observation technologies have been exhibited.
On Friday September 28th, Javier Zaera gave the talk entitled: "TROPOS and the renovation of the touristic sector", part of the Continuous Training Plan of PLOCAN.
Under the recently established partnership between the Norwegian company CMR and PLOCAN, on September 25th, 2012 took place a technical meeting at the headquarters in Bergen of the mentioned company, in order to see firsthand the last integration/commissioning settings of the Sailbuoy autonomous surface vehicle for ocean observation that both parties intend to test in the coming weeks, and finish the definition of technical and operational aspects relating to this mission.
In the frameworkof the European project COST Action 0904, PLOCAN’s staff in training -Tania Morales and Álvaro Lorenzo- are doing along the whole week training stays on glider technology at CNRS-INSU (La Seyne-sur-Mer, France) and NERSC (Bergen, Norway) facilities respectively.
