FIELD WORK PLAN for 20th October 2011
SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES:

To pilot the glider and to process and display the data generated by his vehicle.

To process the files generated by the multiparametric probe to interpret and publish the relevant information later on.

To classify and label de samples of biological / geological solids collected in the last hours.

To maintain the sampling and analysing equipment and facilities on board.

General maintenance of the vessel.

To track and control the glider operation and an eventual intervention.

Analysis and calibration of instruments

Coordination of the scientific team due to embark on 21st October 2011.
Therefore, and given the need to process the biogeochemical information gathered in previous trips at the defined transects and stations in a more detailed and accurate manner, the departure of the B/O Prof. Ignacio Lozano will be postponed to the 21st of October 2011 at the usual time and place. For this embarkation, there are already formal requests from scientists belonging to both private and public institutions (ULPGC, ULL, ITER, ...) interested in participating in the multiparametric sampling on board the mentioned research vessel.
Route to follow with the SG in waters south of El Hierro in the coming days. Theoretically, the distance is about 170 km, we are therefore talking about a 1 week mission.
