Communication and Dissemination of Activities in the Marine-Maritime Sector
The scientific community requires international scientific and technological cooperation to achieve a sustainable observation of the ocean and an understanding of the involved processes. At the same time, it is essential to be able to bring to society the uniqueness of the work carried out by PLOCAN and the facilities and services that derive from it. Therefore, a series of Communication and Dissemination activities in the Marine-Maritime sector (CODIMAR) are proposed, which serve as planning for 2018 to the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i) of PLOCAN created in August 2017.
The CODIMAR project seeks to generate new communication and scientific dissemination mechanisms, as well as to take advantage and reinforce the projects in execution and the events held in PLOCAN with specific actions. The proposed actions are aimed at society in general, although they consider different target audiences depending on the used means of communication. The project integrates both face-to-face actions, based on interactive exhibitions and workshops; as online actions, making use of the corporate website of PLOCAN and the social networks Facebook and Twitter and the videos container service YouTube. Online actions make visible the projects and events of PLOCAN and consider a contest of dissemination videos oriented to students of different ranges of age.
The main axis around which the actions developed will focus will be the lines of activity of PLOCAN, to bring the activities carried out to society, especially considering the inauguration of the marine headquarters, scheduled for 2018, and which will involve a large media repercussion.
The CODIMAR project is executed with the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECyT), the Cabildo (Island Government) of Gran Canaria and the Obra Social Charity of La Caixa bank.
