On May 17, 2012, was put it back into operation off Mogan coast, Gran Canaria, the WaveGlider "Hermes". It’s an unmanned autonomous vehicle intended for ocean observing that the company Liquid Robotics, Inc. (LRI) markets and in Spain is carried out through its national sales representative, EMS. The different tasks of setup, commissioning and deployment of Hermes have been conducted by a technical team comprising members of LRI, EMS and the Canary Islands Oceanic Platform –PLOCAN-.
From 23th to 25th May it will be open the exposure “The Ocean and the quemistry of the life” in El Hierro island, in the exposure room of Valverde town.
On Friday May 18th, Verónica Mesa González gave the talk entitled: "Abengoa Hidrógeno. Hydrogen for a sustainable world", part of the Continuous Training Plan of PLOCAN.
Verónica Mesa Vélez-Bracho holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). In 2005 she joined the Abengoa Hidrógeno SA (before Hynergreen Technologies, Inc.) where she does her work performing Research and Development in the fields of hydrogen and fuel cells as responsible for the Systems Engineering Division.
Within the framework of GROOM and COST Action 0904 projects, is being held from today until tomorrow May 23rd in Mallorca a specific workshop on gliders, under the name of GLIDER OPERATIONS IN EUROPE: SCIENTIFIC, TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL CHALLENGES.
