PLOCAN participated in the Final General Assembly of the SE@PORTS project held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto on 21st March. This project intends to demonstrate the high potential of seaports breakwaters for the integration of wave energy converters ( WECs) in sea ports.

The SE@PORTS project (Sustainable Energy at Seaports) is funded by the European programme OCEANERA-NET, which includes seven institutions from Spain, Portugal and Belgium, with the collaboration of the Port Authority of Las Palmas and Leixoes. The objective of the project is to study the implementation of wave energy converters ( WECs) in sea ports.

During the assembly, the partners presented the results of the design of WECs hybrid devices adapted to environmental and structural characteristics of the Port Authority of Las Palmas and Leixoes. Moreover, the results of its hydraulic behaviour by numerical modelling were presented.
